I and millions of other Virginians support Governor Allen's proposed tax cuts. He's doing exactly the job that the majority of the voters sent him to Richmond to do.
Allen has his priorities straight. He's concentrating on economic development, public safety and education while cutting state bureaucratic administration.
As a member of the Board of Aviation, I can tell you that there is money available for programs that support business in Virginia. I believe small- and large-business owners will tell you the legislative environment is better now than it has been in a decade. When businesses grow, the tax base increases and we all benefit.
In the past 15 years, the Virginia tax burden grew 300 percent, triple the rate of federal spending. Governor Allen proposes only a 3 percent tax cut. It's a sign that he's in touch with fiscally conservative Virginians and the proud heritage we represent.
