FIRE STRIKES 3 VACANT HOUSES: Three vacant, two-story houses in the 200 block of Webster Ave. were struck by fire Friday morning in what fire officials believe are related incidents of arson. No one was in the houses.
The wood frame houses were not adjacent. One house was boarded up while the other two were being renovated, said Portsmouth Fire Capt. William Stublen.
Fire burned out one house while another received extensive damage. The third was not heavily damaged, Stublen said. One firefighter suffered an injured shoulder.
