Vernon L. Williams, 68, of the 1800 block of South Woodhouse Road, died Feb. 11, 1995, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Mr. Williams was retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was born in Florence, Colo., and was a member of Wycliffe Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach. He was a member of a V.F.W. post in Nevada and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Staunton, Va.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L. Williams of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Sherrill L. Williams of Virginia Beach; a son, Stephen L. Williams of Newport News; two brothers, Vernile Williams of Eugene, Ore., and Larry Williams of Woodlands, Texas; and his uncle, Clyde J. Williams of Nevada.
A church service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 1995, at Wycliffe Presbyterian Church by the Rev. William M. Shelton. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel.
