Morris A. Langston Sr., of the 800 block of Jefferson St., a retired stockman, died Feb. 10, 1995, in Hampton Veterans Medical Center, Hampton.
Mr. Langston was born in Norfolk County. He had retired from the Norfolk Naval Supply Center after 38 years. He was a member and former chairman of the Trustee Board and former member of the Male Usher Board of Mount Hermon Baptist Temple Church. He was a charter member of Epsilon Nu Lambda Chapter, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity; member of Doric Lodge 98, Order of Masons; member and past commander of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 27; member of Trench Night Rats 185; Olympian Sports Club and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Neva C. Langston; a daughter, Sophronia L. Gallop of Milford, Conn.; two sons, M. Alexander Langston Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., and Crafton E. Langston of Chesapeake; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews; one sister-in-law; cousins; in-laws and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Hermon Baptist Temple Church by Dr. I.S. Waters. Burial with military honors will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Corprew Funeral Home. Fraternal services will be held Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The body will be taken to the church at noon Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Veterans Administration Center for Patient Comfort Items, Hampton.
