Clara Wade Parks, 86, of 7808 Low Ground Road, died Sunday, in an Emporia hospital.
Mrs. Parks was a Northampton County, N.C., native and a former resident of Jackson, N.C. She was the wife of the late Charlie Reuben Parks and a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Ola Mae Parks Draper of Emporia and Mary Parks Jenkins of Virginia Beach; four sons, Charles R. Parks of Littleton, N.C., James W. Parks of Virginia Beach, Perry W. Parks of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Michael Parks of Easley, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family received friends at the Jackson Funeral Home in Jackson, N.C., from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Parks family cemetery with the Rev. Charles A. Moore and the Rev. Lotis Joyner officiating.
