Jerry Junius Jones, 74, of the 400 block of Redbud Circle, a retired aircraft mechanic, died Feb. 13, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mr. Jones was born in Seaboard, N.C, and was retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility after 32 years. He was a member of Elizabeth River Baptist Church, Fraternal Order of the Eagles and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy O'Neal Jones; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane Jones Divers and Vernon R. Divers of Chesapeake; two sons and daughters-in-law, James G. and Mary Jones of Chesapeake and Michael J. and Karen Jones of Rock Hill, S.C.; two sisters, Frances Bass of Durham, N.C., and Christine Dobbins of Suffolk; two brothers, Bruce Jones of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Raymond Jones of Raleigh, N.C.; six grandchildren, Veron R. Divers Jr., Kimberly Thomas, Christopher Divers, Pamela Davis, David Jones and Leanne Jones; and five great-grandsons.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Frank Howlett. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Elizabeth River Baptist Church. The family will gather at 4221 Goldcrest Drive, Chesapeake, on the day of the funeral.
