Helen V. Savage, 69, of the 1700 block of Portsmouth Blvd., died Feb. 11, 1995, in her home.
She was born in Norfolk County, Va. and was a retired nurses aid for DePaul Hospital. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Portsmouth and the Nurses Unit. She also was a member of the Jolly Senior Citizens of St. John Baptist Church, Past Senior Matron of Rock of Ages Chapter 2, Order of Eastern Star, Hiram of Jehrico, President of the Crusaders, Daughter of Isis, and The Amirants.
Survivors include one sister, Mary E. Hills of Norfolk; a nephew, Howard Glover; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special friends, Daniel Burnell and Flora K. Moore; and brother-in-law, Arthur Hills.
The funeral will be conducted Friday, Feb. 17, 1995, at noon by the Rev. John E. Jones in St. John Baptist Church, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday. The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Friday. ILLUSTRATION: Personal Photo
