Maebell Edwards Cooper, 78, of the 500 block of Beacon Road, died Feb. 12, 1995, in Portsmouth.
She was a native of Chocowinity, N.C., and was the widow of William H. Cooper Sr. She was a member of Collinswood Baptist Church and Cradock Senior Citizens Club.
Survivors include her children, a son, Russell Hill of Portsmouth; a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Don Smith of Bergenfield, N.J., and a son and daughter-in-law, William H. Jr. and Regina Cooper of Madison, Ala.; three sisters, Lonie Boyd of North Carolina, Ethel Lee Lupton of South Carolina and Edna Teall of Georgia; two brothers, I.H. Edwards Jr. and Clarence Edwards, both of North Carolina; and four grandsons, Don and David Smith, Will and Ben Cooper.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Jack Stallings. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
