The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a resolution seeking $102 million in school bonds from the Virginia Public School Authority.
It is the largest amount the city has borrowed, topping the $76.9 million record it set in a November referendum for road improvements.
The money would be used to build eight new schools in Deep Creek, Greenbrier, Great Bridge, Southern Chesapeake and other areas. Additions and renovations to 15 city schools would also be included. by CNB
