Police on Tuesday said they are looking for more boys who may be victims of a suspected child molester.
Detective Jim Price said 33-year-old Mark Perkinson, who is accused of fondling a 15-year-old boy last month after inviting the youth to his home for a night, has had contact with dozens of other boys in the past few years.
Perkinson of the 1400 block of Bridle Creek Road has been under investigation since the 15-year-old boy told police he was fondled Jan. 28. Perkinson was arrested and charged that day, and was released on a promise to return to court.
The investigation broadened recently when a second boy contacted by a detective said Perkinson fondled him. Charges are pending in that case, Price said.
Perkinson, a civilian firefighter for the Navy, has dealt with boys as a Sunday school teacher, a substitute school bus driver and a sponsor for less fortunate families during the past three Christmas holidays, Price said.
Anyone who has had contact with Perkinson in the past few years is asked to call Price at 427-4101. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
