A bill that will let county boards of commissioners roll back interest on late property tax bills was signed into law on Wednesday.
The measure was intended to help Beaufort County put an end to a yearlong controversy over its property revaluation that saw a record number of property owners question the latest property values.
It passed the state Senate Tuesday afternoon after being approved unanimously by the state House earlier in the session. by CNB
