This morning's headline boldly proclaimed the Democrats' ``coup'' in defeating Governor Allen's budget cuts.
May they revel and wallow in their victory, for it shall be short-lived.
The Democratic leadership in the House of Delegates substituted parliamentary chicanery for statesmanship and integrity. They totally misread the voters' mandate for less government, lower taxes, personal accountability and responsibility and honest government. The Democrats have won this battle, but the victory is hollow and self-defeating. They have lost the war for the hearts, minds and, most important, the votes of Virginians. Their pernicious partisanship portends their political demise.
I recommend that Messrs. Moss, Andrews, Cranwell, Croshaw, et al., update their resumes. November is fast approaching!
