Moses Powell, 93, of Cambridge Ave., died Feb. 17, 1995, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
Mr. Powell was born in Florence, S.C., and was a retired roofer for Cradock Sheet Metal Co. after 10 years of service. He was a member and deacon of the Upper Room Holiness Church, Portsmouth, and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife Ruth Powell; four daughters; two sons; 25 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 22, 1995, at 2 p.m. by Minister J. Farrow in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The family will be at the home of his grandson, Ralph Johnson, 937 Florida Ave., Portsmouth, Va., and will assemble there for the funeral service.
