Robert D. Middlebrooks of Duck has been appointed to the board of directors for the Chesapeake General Hospital Healthcare Foundation, officials announced this week.
Established in 1993, the foundation aims to elicit public support for the hospital and its branch offices. Chesapeake General operates the Outer Banks Medical Center in Nags Head and Chesapeake Medical Specialists in Southern Shores. The Virginia-based hospital also sponsors emergency services for Dare and Currituck Counties in North Carolina.
Middlebrooks is chairman of the Dare County Tourism Board, director of the Outer Banks Association of Realtors, and is on the College of the Albemarle Educational Advisory Committee. He recently was appointed to the First Flight Centennial Commission, which was created to develop activities for the Wright Brothers' commemorative. by CNB
