Solomon Lee Thatch, 82, died on Sunday, Feb. 19, 1995, in his Virginia Beach residence. He was retired after more than 20 years of service with the Internal Revenue Service as an auditor.
Mr. Thatch was born in Norfolk and was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Davis Thatch. He was a member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church in Norfolk, and was an Army veteran of WW II.
Survivors include his son, Clinton L. Thatch of Pompano Beach, Fla.; a daughter in law, Melissa Lowry Thatch of Ellicott City, Md.; four grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Gillian, and Hillary Thatch all of Ellicott City, Md.; and two sisters in law, Carolyn D. Britt and Allyn D. Hudgins both of Norfolk.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 23, 1995, at 2 p.m. in Miles Memorial United Methodist Church by Rev. Morris A. Bennett. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Cox Funeral Home on Wednesday night from 7 till 8 P.M. for visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to his church at 9450 Granby Street, Norfolk, Va. 23503.
