Roy Ernest Knight, 72, of the first block of Hawthorne Road, died Monday, Feb. 20, 1995, in Chowan Hospital.
Mr. Knight attended Oklahoma University, Notre Dame University, Harvard University and Arkansas University. He was a retired Navy captain after having served 30 years and was retired from the Boeing Airplane Company. He was presently employed by the United Piece and Die Works and Mackey's Ferry Saw Mill.
Mr. Knight was the son of the late Ernest and Clara Bell Wright Knight and the husband of Arlene Boyce Knight of Edenton. Besides his wife, Mr. Knight is survived by two stepdaughters, Rebecca Beaman and Bonnie Beaman, both of Edenton; two stepsons, Cliff Beaman Jr. and Larry Beaman, both of Edenton; one son-in-law, Lou Merz of Edenton; and one grandchild, Terry Merz of Edenton.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Beaver Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Sawyer officiating. The family will receive friends at their home. Evans/Williford-Barham Funeral Home in Edenton is handling arrangements.
