Harold Thompson Palmer, 89, of the Linlier section of Virginia Beach, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1995.
Mr. Palmer was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on Aug. 19, 1905 and was the widower of Josephine Britton Palmer. He was manager of the air conditioning and refrigeration department of Virginia Chemicals Inc., Portsmouth, and retired as a consultant. He was a member of Galilee Episcopal Church and the church choir, a member of Princess Anne Country Club, Ocean View Masonic Lodge (NU)335, Khedive Temple and Linlier Community League.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Katherine Sawyer of Virginia Beach; a son, Harold T. Palmer Jr. of Coeur'd Alane, Idaho; two sisters, Doris Yost of Springhill, Fla. and Florence Dean of Miami; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A church service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Galilee Episcopal Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. John Burley. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
