Billie H. Hildebrand, 72, of the 800 block of Fentress Airfield Road, died Monday in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mr. Hildebrand was born in Blacklick, Pa., and was the son of the late William F. and Glenn Smith Hildebrand. He began working in 1942 for Pennsylvania Central Airlines, Pittsburgh, which later became Capital Airlines and finally, United Airlines. Mr. Hildebrand retired from Customer Services with United Airlines after forty-three years service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 280 and a member of United Airlines Retirees Association. He was a 32 degree Mason with the Willis V. Fentress Masonic Lodge, (NU)2.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Doxsee Hildebrand, one daughter, Sharon Hildebrand, one son, Frank Hildebrand, and one grandson, Brent Phields, all of Chesapeake.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge by the Rev. Tom Mercer.
There will be no public viewing. Flowers are to be omitted. The family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Hope Haven Children's Home, 3000 North Landing Road, Virginia Beach, Va.; PAWS with a Cause, 1235 100th St., S.E., Byron Center, MI 49315; Sons of the Legion, American Legion Post 280, 469 N.
