Edwin Cecil Roberts Sr., 64, of the 1300 block of Goodman St., died Feb. 20, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Roberts was born in Shelby, N.C., and was manager of Metro Courier Service in Norfolk. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, and was an army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Beryl Jean Roberts; three daughters, Georgia Louise Roberts of Virginia Beach, Beryl Jean Bernice Roberts McCoy of Chesapeake, and Lydia Virginia Roberts of New York; two sons, Edwin Cecil Roberts Jr. of Chesapeake and Dr. Edward Franklin Roberts Jr. of Virginia Beach; one sister, Ramona McDaniel of Shelby, N.C.; one brother, Spurgeon Roberts of Denver, Co.; and six grandchildren, Arnisha, Arkeisha, Jeff, Frankie, Kareese, and Ed.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 25, 1995 at noon by the Rev. William Darryl Scott in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at 1340 Goodman St., Chesapeake. Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel in charge.
