An effort to push plans to study the state's marinas and their use of public trust waters stalled in the Senate Tuesday.
The bill would create a 20-member study committee to review the state's policy regarding businesses, such as marinas, that use public waterways.
The study committee would be appointed by Senate leader Marc Basnight, a Dare Democrat, and House Speaker Harold J. Brubaker, a Randolph County Republican, and would report its findings to the General Assembly by May 1.
Despite the delay, the measure could come before the Senate for a final vote and be signed into law later this week. by CNB
