Virginia Averill Barnett, 87, of the 3100 block of Shore Drive, died Feb. 21, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Barnett was born in Angola, Ind. She was a retired English teacher and principal in the Painesville Township school system in Ohio. She was baptized in the Christian Church, was a graduate of Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio, and was the widow of Arthur R. Barnett.
Survivors include three daughters, Ann B. Schellhammer of Virginia Beach, Lynn B. Crissman of Grosse Pointe, Mich., and Kay B. Hynson of Chantilly, Va.; a sister, Mary Lou Price of Atlanta, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at the graveside at a later date. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling arrangements.
