Herbert Thomas Barnes, 81, formerly of Virginia Beach, died Feb. 26, 1995, in a Salem, Va., hospital.
Mr. Barnes, a native of Princess Anne County, was a resident of Tidewater for most of his life. He is the son of the late Thomas J. and Mary Malbon Barnes. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a brother, George W. Barnes of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
