Elizabeth Williams Ray, 85, of the 1300 block of 49th St., died Feb. 26, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Ray, a native of Bullock County, Ga., was the widow of Cecil E. Ray. She was a member of one of the first Girl Scout troops established by Juliet Lowe.
Survivors include three daughters, Mabel R. Davis of Virginia Beach, Joan R. Hayes and her husband, Dr. Charles Hayes of Virginia Beach and Virginia R. Paradise and her husband, John of Norfolk; three sons, Cecil E. Ray Jr. and his wife, Elsie of Norfolk, William G. Ray and his wife, Suzanne of Richmond and John R. Ray and his wife, Elizabeth of Virginia Beach; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. John C. Dean. The family will receive friends at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to WHRO-TV or the Batten Library, Norfolk Academy.
