Joseph E. Parson Jr., ``Big Joe,'' of the 600 block of Appomatox St., died Feb. 24, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mr. Parson was born in Norfolk County and was a member of St. Thomas Amez Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Lee Parson; three sons, Ivan A. Boyd, Joseph E. Parson IV, and Leonard E. Parson, all of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Ivette, Ivan, Kyleah, and Kyle; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, March 1, 1995, at noon by Dr. General Lee Scott in St. Thomas Amez Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. There will be an informal wake today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
