TROY R. STAYER

OS1 (SW) Troy Robert Stayer, USN, 30, died Feb. 26, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.

Born in Gardner, Kan., he served in the Navy for 11 years and was a member of Virginia Beach Baptist Church. He was instrumental in providing evangelistic entertainment, through puppets and singing, to various churches and other organizations.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Jean Stayer; one daughter, Tiffany R. Stayer of Virginia Beach; his mother, Martha R. Stayer and father, the Rev. Lewis R. Stayer, both of Cope, S.C.; a sister, Frances H. Ward and her husband, Ronald of Cope; two brothers, Christerpher J. Stayer of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Charles Stayer of Cope; two stepchildren, Valorie Ann Pohlsander and Eric Lane Pohlsander, both of Missouri; and numerous other relatives.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in London Bridge Baptist Church on Potters Road, by Dr. A.C. Smith and Chaplain Brett C. Inman. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Sumter, S.C. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at London Bridge Baptist Church, Potters Road. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling arrangements. The family wishes to express their thanks for the support and concern that they continue to receive and ask for continued prayer.
