FRANCIS J. BECHELLI

Francis J. ``Ance'' Bechelli, 80, of the 200 block of Oak Leaf Court, died Feb. 27, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mr. Bechelli, a native of Evansville, Ind., attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk. He was a 26-year veteran of the U.S. Navy Medical Corps and served on the USS WASP CV7. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association, the Edward Douglas White Council of the Knights of Columbus and the USS Wasp Stinger Club.

Survivors include his wife, Susan King Bechelli; a daughter, Susan B. Daniel and her husband, Frank of Chesapeake; two sons, Joseph Bechelli and his wife, Hilary of Concord, Calif., Michael J. Bechelli and his wife, Susan Priest of Richmond; three sisters; two brothers; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Fr. John J. Dorgan. Burial with military honors will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at 924 Chesterfield Terrace in Chesapeake. The family will receive friends Wednesday beginning at 7 p.m. in the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., where a Christian wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Catholic High School in Virginia Beach or the Navy Memorial Fund.
