Arthur James Tillage Sr., 68, of the 800 block of Benwood Road, died Monday, Feb. 27, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Tillage had retired from the Norfolk Naval Supply Center as a warehouse foreman after 36 years.
Mr. Tillage was born in Gloucester Point, Va., and was the son of the late Andrew Vincent and Ruth Garnett Tillage. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Walton Tillage. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Moose Lodge (NU)39, Elks Lodge (NU)38, American Legion Post (NU)204 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post (NU)4809.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Anne T. Zagrocki of Springfield, Va.; a son, Arthur James Tillage Jr. of Norfolk; a brother, Vincent ``Bucky'' Tillage of Norfolk; and two grandsons, Michael R. Kiernan of Fort Stewart, Ga., and Robert E. Kiernan Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cox Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Otis Colston. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday for visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
