MAMIE L. BYRD

Mamie Lee Byrd, 94, of the 100 block of Wyoming Ave., died Feb. 27, 1995, in her residence.

She was a native of Franklin County, Va., and was the widow of John T. Byrd. Mrs. Byrd was a member of River Shore Baptist Church in Portsmouth, the Monday Morning Mixed Bowling League, and Ladies Auxiliary of World War I Veterans.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis B. Morrisette and husband, Robert of Portsmouth and Lavern B. Harrell and husband, Kenneth of Portsmouth; a son, Stanford T. Byrd and wife, Evelyn of Roanoke, Va.; a brother, Dalton Shively of Ferrum, Va.; six grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Dr. William C. Russ. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to River Shore Baptist Church.
