Congressional Republicans ask that we trust the governors to do the right thing with nutrition block grants for children. Why on Earth should we?
In our own commonwealth, our smug governor proposed removing poor children 13 years old and over from Medicaid. Did your children stop requiring medical care at 13? Mine didn't. Fortunately, his proposal was given a decent burial in the General Assembly. It clearly demonstrated, however, the bizarre kind of ``caring'' which would be afforded poor children.
If this is change, America needs none of it.
