The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star launches its annual weekend fishing forecast with this issue. A more complete forecast, with a map, will begin April 6.
It's a look at saltwater and freshwater fishing along the coasts of Virginia and North Carolina, inaugurated more than 35 years ago.
It will appear each Thursday until December and will cover major ports and fishing areas between Chincoteague, Va., and Ocracoke, N.C., including larger lakes and rivers of Hampton Roads and Northeastern North Carolina.
