Howard John Shotton, 85, of the 500 block of Butler Ave., died March 1, 1995, at Obici Hospital.
Mr. Shotton was born in Wilkesboro, Pa. He retired after more than 20 years of service for Pilot Life as an insurance representative. He was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church, Suffolk and Savage Bible Class. He was a 50 year member of Nansemond Masonic Lodge (NU)77.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Ward Shotton; a daughter, Patricia S. Windley of Lumberton, N.C.; two brothers, Dr. Donald Shotton of Lynchburg, Va., and Tommy Shotton of Suffolk; a granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Windley and a grandson, William C. Windley III, both of Lumberton, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service and entombment will be conducted today at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Clyde D. Nuckols Sr. at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Magnolia United Methodist Church, 1764 Wilroy Rd., Suffolk, Va. 23434.
