ALMA W. THOMPSON

Alma Walls Thompson, 74, went to sleep in Jesus March 4, 1995. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Albert Thompson.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William Albert Jr. and Anna Katherine Thompson of Chesapeake and Charles Fleming and Pamela Meadows Thompson of Williamsburg. Four grandchildren, Huntley T. Kendall of Virginia Beach, William A. Thompson, III of Baton Rouge, La., Tracy T. Christie and Barry Kirk Thompson, both of Williamsburg; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Travis Christie of Williamsburg. Two brothers, Horace E. Walls of Hampton and John A. Walls of Williamsburg. Three sisters, Inez W. Walker of Barhamsville, and Parish Mann and Elise Timberlake of Lanexa.

She was the co-owner of W.A. Thompson Contractors for 35 years and owned and operated Thompson Guest House in Williamsburg for 44 years.

She was a member of James River Baptist Church, where she served as president of Women's Missionary Union, was a Sunday School Teacher and served on the History Committee and the Pulpit Committee.

The family will receive friends in Williamsburg Funeral Home, Sunday, March 5, 1995, 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. James Ivey and Dr. Thomas Powers at 2 p.m. Monday, March 6, 1995, in James River Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to James River Baptist Church Building Fund, 4931 Centerville Rd., Williamsburg, Va. 23188.
