Bessie Love Cannon, 62, of the 3800 block of Peachwood Drive, died March 4, 1995, in her home in Portsmouth.
Mrs. Cannon was born in Portsmouth. She was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Temple Church.
Survivors include her husband, Allen Cannon Jr.; three daughters, Deborah D. Cannon and Patricia M. Montgomery, both of Portsmouth, and Tracy R. Cannon of Arlington, Va.; six sons, Allen Cannon III of Vienna, Va., Kevin M. Cannon of Wichita, Kansas, Kim L. Cannon and Simmons T. Cannon, both of Portsmouth, Jeffery J. Cannon of Atlantic City, N.J., and Amen Hotep of Hampton, Va.; three sisters, Ernestine L. Coward of Hollis, N.Y., Fannie E. Dismuke of Suffolk and Barbara J. White of New York, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; an aunt; nieces; nephews; cousins; in-law; and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Hermon Baptist Temple Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. George Henry. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 2 p.m. Monday. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
