Ethel Virginia Sparrow Pearson of the 2500 Block of Minnesota Avenue, Norfolk, VA, died Saturday, March 4th, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Pearson was from the Woodhouse family of Princess Anne County. She was born at Witchduck Point, Princess Anne County. She was a member of the Community Christian Church of Norfolk. She was the mother of the late Charles Sparrow, Sr. of the Norfolk Botanical Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Earline Sumpter and Joyce Peterson, both of Norfolk, Va.; two sons, John Sparrow of Norfolk, Va., and Linwood Sparrow of Virginia Beach,Va. She had 13 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Pearson was known as Mom by the many people whose lives she touched. Most recently she was affectionately known as grandmother. She supported her children in all things they attempted in their lives. She loved Bingo and she was an avid fisherman. The emptiness we have, we will now fill with the love she gave.
Graveside Services will be held Monday, March 6th, at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, VA. The services will be conducted by the Reverend Tom Douros.
The Family will receive friends at Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall Kempsville Chapel on Sunday, March 5th, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
