JULIA W. B. ARMOND

Julia W. Bolding Armond, 77, of the 800 block of Fremont St., died peacefully Saturday, March 4, 1995, at her residence with her husband at her side.

Mrs. Armond was a native of Norfolk and the granddaughter of the late William H. and Mamie C. Butts Walker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute St. She attended Booker T. Washington High School. Music and song were her attributes, and she was called by many of her friends the ``Song Bird of the South.''

Survivors include her husband, James M. Armond III of the home; one daughter, Shirley Bolding of the home; one sister, Evelyn Winslow of Louisville, Kentucky; a loving, dear and devoted aunt, Viola W. Cutler; a special cousin, Marie E. Johnson; and other nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, March 8, 1995, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. James Edwards at Riddick Funeral Service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the residence. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
