RUBY T. ELLIS

Ruby Tomlin Ellis, 76, departed this life from her home on Longstreet Lane, on March 5, 1995.

She was a native of Isle of Wight County, Va. When she arrived at her destination in the hereafter, she joined her late husband, Isaac Owen Ellis, her parents, Teddy and Lizzie Tomlin, her brother, Cortez H. Tomlin and her sister, Dorothy Tomlin.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by a daughter, Rita Leigh Ellis Takas of New Castle, Pa.; a son, Richard Owen Ellis of Suffolk; a brother, Johnnie T. Tomlin of Newport News; four grandchildren, Nathan James Takas, Daniel Ellis Takas and Jessica Leigh Takas, all of New Castle, Pa., and Bradford Owen Ellis of Suffolk. Mrs. Ellis also leaves behind a loving host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Ellis was a member of Holy Neck Church of Christ and the Ladies Bible Class. She graduated from Holland High School in 1938, and was married in 1947 until parted by death from her husband over 40 years later.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 1995 at Hill Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. E. Cecil Smith. Burial will be in the Holland Cemetery. The family would like to publicly thank those who remembered and supported Mrs. Ellis during her final days and will receive visitors at the residence. Memorials are to be made to Holy Neck Church of Christ, Pineview Road, Suffolk, Va. 23437.
