Mary E. Tyndell, 92, of the 600 block of Shillelagh Road, died Saturday in a Chesapeake nursing home.
Mrs. Tyndell was born in Old Princess Anne County and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Pollie Miller Martin. She was the widow of Wesley E. Tyndell and was a charter member of the Great Bridge Church of God, Chesapeake.
Survivors include her three daughters, Alma Harper of Buffalo, Mo., Ann Williams and Elizabeth Kretzer, both of Chesapeake; her four sons, Elwood Tyndell, Marvin Tyndell, James Tyndell and Arnold Tyndell, all of Chesapeake; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge. The Rev. Randy Wooden, the Rev. Carroll Hurley and the Rev. Jimmy Boyd will officiate. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
