MAXINE B. WILLEY

Maxine Blazer Willey, 76, went to the arms of the Lord on March 5, 1995, in her home in Chesapeake.

Mrs. Willey was born in Marshall, N.C., and was the widow of Hugh M. Willey. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church for 50 years. She served as the Sunday School teacher for the 2-year-old class for more than 30 years and was a member of the Victory Bible Class. She was a volunteer with the Meals-on-Wheels program.

Survivors include two sons, Hugh M. Willey Jr. of Chesapeake and John C. Willey of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Pauline Rector of Rutherford College, N.C., Christine Hyder of Swannanoa, N.C., Carnell Clark of Weaverville, N.C., and Izorah Langford of Asheville, N.C.; and two grandsons, Thomas Jacob Willey of Chesapeake and Johnathan Edward Willey of Orlando, Fla.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Deep Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Ernie Myers and the Rev. Roscoe Musselwhite. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
