ELIZABETH M. JOHNSON

Elizabeth Magdeline Slusher Johnson, 90 years old, of Roxboro Road, died March 7, 1995, in a local hospital. Mrs. Johnson was a beloved Mother and friend to her six children. She served as Postmaster in Corinne, W.Va., for 27 years before her retirement and moving to Virginia.

She has three children locally, Robert ``Bob'' Johnson, associate with Peoples Insurance Co., and his wife, Brenda, of Suffolk; Virginia Palomares, with The Harbor Club, and husband John of Norfolk; Merle C. Johnson, DARS counselor with Norfolk Southern, of Virginia Beach; and Roxie Dean and husband Jim of Clarksburg, W.Va., Billy J. Blankenship of Mullens, W.Va., and James Johnson and wife Kathy of Inverness, Fla. She was ``Maw Maw'' to 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration to all who knew her. Her love for the teachings of the Bible and caring for her family were the most important part of her life.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home on Tidewater Drive on Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday with burial at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Salvation Army in honor of her nephew, Major Eugene Slusher.
