CORNELIA GODWIN

Cornelia ``Big Moma'' Godwin, 85, died March 5, 1995.

She was the widow of Cecil P. Godwin. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a member of Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church, and the Stewardress Board.

Survivors are a daughter, Emma L. Johnson, son, Ernest A. Godwin Sr. both of Carrollton; two sisters, Emma Braggs, Baltimore, Md., Lucy Batten, Carrollton; a brother, Eley Batten, Carrollton; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 12 noon Sat., Mar. 11, 1995 in Campbell Chapel A.M.E. Church by Rev. V.L. Ricks Sr. Burial in church cemetery. Body in church 10:30 a.m. Sat. Family will assemble at the home of her daughter on Brewer's Neck Blvd., Carrollton. Pretlow & Chapman Funeral Home, James B. Chapman, director.
