Elizabeth Harwell Story, 86, of Deer Run Road, died Monday, March 6, 1995, at the East Pavilion in Franklin.
Mrs. Story was born in Norfolk and was the daughter of the late Robert Amiss and Catherine Oliver Harwell. She was a graduate of Maury High School and Radford College and was a former elementary school teacher in Newsoms. Mrs. Story was a longtime member of Newsoms United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and member of the United Methodist Women. She was the widow of R.B. Story Jr., who died Sept. 24, 1990.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann S. Williams and her husband, Gerald of Courtland; two sons, Robert B. Story III and his wife, Maria of Courtland and Edwin H. Story and his wife, Brenda of Spartanburg, S.C.; one sister, Katherine H. Johnson of Richmond; six grandchildren, Sharon W. Wills, Susan W. Blanks, James R. Williams, Julie S. Byerly, Christopher E. Story, Anna Maria Story; four great-grandchildren, Meghan Blanks, Kelsey Blanks, Matthew Blanks and Mary Michael Wills.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Newsoms United Methodist Church by the Rev. Pat Tony. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggest that memorials be made to the Newsoms United Methodist Church, c/o Mr. Paul Leathers, 24591 Greenhead Road, Courtland, Va. 23837. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
