If twins are double the fun, would triplets be three times as much fun?
An odd question? Maybe, but it's not every day that one gets to talk to two sets of threesomes. I did recently, at Mount Zion Elementary School and Forest Glen Middle School, both in Suffolk.
The first group, at Mount Zion, are 7 years old; the second group, 11.
I talked to the oldest child first. None heard the others' answers to these questions:
1. Do you like being a triplet?
2. Favorite food?
3. Favorite television show?
4. Favorite thing to do?
5. Favorite subject in school?
6. What do you want to be when you grow up?
7. What about your siblings?
Samuel Ellis:
1. I like being a triplet. We don't have to wear the same clothes.
2. Pizza.
3. ``The Flintstones.''
4. Play with my ambulance.
5. Playing at school.
6. I want to be a trash man or a teacher.
7. Best thing about brother Solomon? He helps me clean our room. Best thing about sister Sarah? She lets us come in her room and play Nintendo.
Solomon Ellis:
1. Sometimes I don't like being a triplet. We got to sit together and do our homework.
2. Pizza.
3. ``Bugs Bunny.''
4. Play with a guitar.
5. Math.
6. A policeman.
7. Best thing about Samuel? He lets me read his books and play with his toys. Best thing about Sarah? When she sleeps in our room, we sleep in her room.
Sarah Ellis:
1. I like being a triplet and having two brothers. They're nice to me.
2. Pizza.
3. ``Family Matters.''
4. Write.
5. Writing in cursive.
6. Teacher.
7. Best thing about Solomon? When I need something he gives it to me. Best thing about Samuel? Same thing.
Candace Prevatte:
1. Sometimes I like being a triplet because you're never bored - you always have company; sometimes I don't like it because they try to boss you around. I'm the bossiest.
2. My mom's chicken broccoli casserole.
3. ``Saved By the Bell.''
4. Rollerblading.
5. Computers.
6. An artist or a teacher.
7. Best thing about sister Christina? She's the smartest and helps me with my schoolwork. Best thing about Courtney? She tells funny jokes.
Courtney Prevatte:
1. It's interesting to have sisters who look the same as you.
2. Pizza.
3. ``Family Matters.''
4. Rollerblading.
5. Computers.
6. Interior decorator.
7. Best thing about Candace? She'll be around if I'm lonely and have nothing to do. Best thing about Christina? She likes to play games with me.
Christina Prevatte:
1. Being a triplet is just not ordinary - it's special. Not all people have two sisters.
2. Pizza.
3. ``Sister, Sister.''
4. Softball.
5. Math.
6. Marine biologist.
7. Best thing about Candace? We get along. She's not mean. Best thing about Courtney? She's active, like me. We do activities together. ILLUSTRATION: Photos
