Louise Richards Pickard, 77, of 911 Howard Place, died March 7, 1995, in Obici Hospital.
A native of Chase City, she was a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Daphne Creech Richards and the widow of Marvin A. Pickard. Mrs. Pickard, a public school music teacher, taught music at Holland High and Holland Elementary schools and in her own studio. She was a member of West End Baptist Church, where she served as organist for a number of years. She was a founder of and accompanist for the Pickard Chorale.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara B. Rayburn of Suffolk, Mary Louise Darnell of Washington, D.C.; a son, William E. Byrd III, of Dunn, N.C.; three grandsons, Lee Rayburn Jr. of Rockwood, Tenn., William T. ``Jack'' Rayburn of Suffolk, Maxwell L. Torian of Washington, D.C.; two granddaughters, Chandria and Stephanie Darnell of Washington, D.C.; and one great-grandson, Holland Rayburn III of Rockwood Tenn.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby Jr. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at 911 Howard Place. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O.
