John Wilburn ``J.W.'' Lassiter, 80, of the 200 block of March Drive, died March 8, 1995, in his home.
Mr. Lassiter was born in Sunbury, N.C. He retired as owner of J.W. Lassiter Inc., was a member of West End Baptist Church, Suffolk, Progressive Men's Class, and was a deacon. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, Suffolk-Nansemond Chapter.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Mann Lassiter; a daughter, Kathy L. Robertson of Suffolk; a son, Steve Lassiter of Virginia Beach; a sister, Minnie L. Robertson of Suffolk; two brothers, James A. Lassiter of Florence, S.C., and Alor R. Lassiter of Suffolk; and three grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the residence.
