The city's second homicide of the year was recorded Wednesday when an 18-year-old died of a gunshot wound he suffered March 1.
Alonzo D. Bynum of 500 Edwards St. was pronounced dead at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital at 12:46 a.m. Police found Bynum in a hallway of 601 Jefferson St. about 8:30 p.m. March 1 with a chest wound.
Portsmouth's first homicide of the year was recorded Feb. 13 when an infant was found at the SPSA trash plant on Victory Boulevard.
