Police are looking for a 28-year-old man in connection with a shooting that occurred Saturday morning outside an elementary school.
Charles Vaughan, 22, of the 800 block of Wide St., was talking with friends in the yard of Young Park Elementary School about 10:20 a.m. when he was shot.
Police said Vincent M. Johnson, 28, of the 500 block of E. Olney Road, walked up to Vaughan, pulled out a handgun and opened fire. Vaughan was struck by several bullets.
Vaughan was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.
Warrants have been issued charging Johnson with malicious wounding and using a firearm in commission of felony.
