Riders on some of the state's coastal ferries would be able buy a souvenir of their trip under a bill that has passed its first test in the state Senate.
The bill would allow the Department of Transportation to sell souvenirs bearing the ferry division logo - a profile of a ferry with a lighthouse in the background.
The measure would help provide a source of extra income to the state ferry system.
The bill, sponsored by Sen. James D. Speed, a Franklin County Democrat, was endorsed by the Senate Transportation Committee and referred on Thursday to the Senate Finance Committee. by CNB
