Harry Schaefer Jr., 80, of North Wolfsnare Drive in Virginia Beach, a retired transportation supervisor with Seaboard Coastline Railroad, died March 13, 1995, in Chesapeake.
Mr. Schaefer was born in Portsmouth, Va., and was the widower of Beulah Ellis Schaefer. He was a member of Galilee Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach and the Men's Prayer Group.
Mr. Schaefer is survived by a daughter, Gray Schaefer Dodson of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Ann Schaefer Hodgman of Virginia Beach and Ruth Schaefer Hitch of Norfolk; a brother, George Edward Schaefer of Richmond, Va.; three grandchildren, Ernest W. Dodson Jr., Melissa G. Dodson and Harry Schaefer Dodson; and a great-grandson, Zachary Stewart Dodson.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Galilee Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach by the Rev. John Burley. Burial will be in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Galilee Episcopal Church at 40th St. and Pacific in Virginia Beach. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
