Stella Presson VanNatter, 88, died Sunday, March 12, 1995. Born in Southampton County, Va., she was a Peninsula resident most of her life. Mrs. VanNatter was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late John T. and Viola Freeman Presson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. VanNatter and survived by her son, John Thomas VanNatter of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Connie P. Tomlinson of Richmond and Margaret P. King of Dallas, Texas; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Samuel W. Tatem. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday in Calvary Baptist Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Contributions to Calvary Baptist Church, 4700 Huntington Ave., Newport News, 23607. A special thanks from the family to the Riverside Hospice Unit. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge or arrangements.
