Sarah C. Bolling, 94, of the 900 block of Marble Arch, died Tuesday, March 14, 1995, in Sentara Nursing Center, Chesapeake.
She was the widow of Ernest Lee Bolling of Forest, Va. Mrs. Bolling was born Nov. 19, 1900, in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Harrison Thaddeus Creasy and Mary Frances Dudley. She was a member of Forest United Methodist Church and Jefferson Woman's Club, Forest, Va., and a former member of the Golden Merry Makers of Lynchburg. She was retired from nursing.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Preston (Kathleen) West of Deltaville and Richmond and Mrs. Joyce B. Gardner of Chesapeake; four grandsons, Ersel L. Bolling Jr. and wife, Charlene of Bedford and Charlottesville, David M. Owens of Chesapeake, Leland L. Owens Jr. and wife, Marie, of Virginia Beach and Richard B. Owens of Dade City, Fla.; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Ersel Lee Bolling Sr. and daughter-in-law, Hannah Rusher Bolling of Bedford.
The body will be sent from Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, to the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford, Va., for a funeral service on Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Virginia Memorial Park, Route 221, Bedford, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
